Revry’s Boss Up, The Musical From Creator Tony Talks Receives an Unforgettable Sold Out Premiere

This past Thursday, January 29, Creator Tony Talks came home to a sold out premiere for his upcoming original Boss Up, The Musical, which will begin streaming February 1, only on Revry. Touching down at the Landmarks Midtown Arts Center along with the Out on Film LGBTQ+ Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, Tony Talks brought his “fabulous and flawless” character Cassandra to the big screen.

Every seat was filled in the Atlanta, Georgia theater – fans and invited guests alike, emphasizing how impactful the film’s premiere is Revry’s broad audience. Profound cheers erupted as the end credits rolled, even receiving a few standing ovations! Every name shown on the screen was met with applause (as seen on various social media pages), making it clear that this was not just a film release, but a celebration for the large community built throughout the making of Talk’s vision.

Revry was proud to invite Angelica Ross, star of FX’s Pose and American Horror Story, to moderate the Q&A with Tony, drawing out the deeper meaning behind the making of his filmmaking debut. Coming back from her recent leave from Hollywood in 2023, Ross led her way through the premiere as if she never left.

Along with Angelica Ross, the premiere was also graced with appearances by the film’s cast, including (but not limited to) Ocean Kelly, Schelle Purcell, Samiah Alexander, Miguel Corado, and Gregory Hammons; as well as directors Tee Johnson and Sydney Stewart.

Others came to show their support for Tony as well, including Tre Melvin (influencer and activist), Octavius Terry (stylist), Derek J (stylist), Arrington Foster (actor), Kiami Davael (actor), and Terrell Carter (actor and singer).

“I think what inspired me to do this was I just wanted to tell a story that I feel like we all tell ourselves,” said Tony Talks. Revry is dedicated to providing authentic and inclusive entertainment that accurately portrays the diversity of queer experiences – allowing Tony to bring Cassandra’s vision to life. “It reflects Revry’s spirit of self-discovery, self-celebration, and self-love,” said Revry Co-Founder and CEO, Damian Pelliccione.
